Jack Responds

January 25th, 2006 (04:48 pm)

Jack's comment on Joystiq:

Thanks for the thought. As soon as I get the flowers, I will pack them up and send them to to Judge James M. Moore, Fayette County Courthouse, Fayette, Alabama 35555. He is the Judge presiding over our wrongful death case which arose out of Devin Moore's training on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to kill 2 cops and a dispather. We were all on 60 Minutes about it. I want Judge Moore to know that the flowers are an "in memoriam" tribute to the three good men cut down because Paul Eibeler, CEO of Take-Two/Rockstar is a sociopathic criminal who knowingly markets adult, cop-killing murder simulators to kids. GTA has spawned multiple murders around the country, including the school massacre in Red Lake, MN. Go ahead. Send me the flowers. They'll be sent right off to the Judge, with an explanation as to who sent them and then who forwarded them, and why. Go ahead; make my day. Jack Thompson

All things considered, that would be pretty nice of him, really. Obviously we don't agree with the message, but it was suggested by many of you that if Jack were to donate the flowers to someone else it would be a worthwhile gesture in one way or another.

To be honest, I think he's taking this in a fairly respectable way.

The holy roller should make public all evidence that a video game trains kids on the proper firing, reloading, and aiming of a gun.

he's lying, once he sees how pretty the flowers are he won't want anyone but himself to have them. but either way, i play gta all the time and i'm still a lousy shot. a dual shock controller really can't simulate a handgun or any other type of weapon very well, unless you choose to strangle someone with the cord. but hey that's age old news that jacky boy still ignores.

That note really has an air of 'I'm telling my mom on youuu!' to it, doesn't it?

I don't even play GTA, but he makes me want to, just to spite him. And man, if he hates games like GTA, he must really hate Duck Hunt.

Okay... He's going to send the flowers to the judge? This suddenly looses all effect. Are the flowers still going to be sent, then? I'm not sure if I'm entirely comfortable with this. As long as the judge knows what our intents were, then that is fine. But, still....

George BW

The man is forwarding our flowers, likely with the messages still intact, to a Judge who hates him (kicked him out of Alabama) as proof that we are EVIL.

So far I don't see the problem.

What I don't get about Jacko is that he sues Take-Two for these murders as if this was Take-Two's or Rockstar's intention. He acts like Rockstar designed the games to train people to kill, which is an absolutely ridiculous notion. Vice City is one of my favorite games, but my criminal record is completely spotless, without so much as a speeding ticket. Never mind the fact that aiming in GTA is a simple matter of holding the R button, and maybe changing targets with the shoulder buttons. And I'm pretty sure there's more to carjacking than pressing the Y button. And that more people lock their cars in the real world than in the GTA universe.

i dont get it either

But its a stupid ignorant pathetic dumbass idea now that by simply Playing Gta you will learn to use guns and will go around killing people because you do it in the game.I guess my cranial menu is broken since i have 83000 kills in san andreas and have yet to murder anyone

Jack Thompson sending pink flowers to a judge who hates him?

Isn't the symbolism of floral pink kind of, you know, suggestive in that context? :D

Is he suggesting that sending them in memorian of the two men is somehow going to put gamers in a (more) bad light? Because I'm thinking that would be a really nice thing to do. I'm pretty sure it would prove that gamers aren't crazy, maniacal killers.

What he wrote just sounds so vindictive...
"Make my day"?
Why can't he ever write a mature response?
But maybe I'm just reading it in "Stereotypical Jack Voice".

"Roar! I will tell him why you sent them!"

Wouldn't that be illegal?

Wouldn't sending a gift to the Judge presiding over you case be considered bribery?

Re: Wouldn't that be illegal?
George BW

That Judge ordered Thompson removed from the case last year because of his comments and publicity antics.

Thompson supports the case but does not represent on it.

The Judge presides over the case but apparently does not like Jack.

A plan

Just as you send the flowers, call up that judge and inform them of what everyone has done, and that they have been sent to Jack. That way when Jack sends them on he'll just look like a lying ass. Well, more of an ass.

There really needs to be some kind of final movement to finish Jack off and ruin his campaign. It's probably only a matter of time until he screws it up himself.

While I like the decisiveness of that, Judge Moore is not our issue here, and contacting him in advance of this is grossly unecessary unless we are CERTAIN Jack will use this against us.

Rather than be prepared for Judge Moore, let's cover all our bases and get the undistorted message all around the world as soon as its sent to Jack. We won't let him lie about it if the truth is all around us.

I really hope he keeps the letter with the flowers when he sends them. This could only prove to the judge that Jack is even more crazy and childish than origionally thought. Oh well, our mission was to get the flowers and message to Jack, he can do what he will after that.
